VRIENTS, J.B. - Serenissimae Reipublicae Genuensis Ducatus et Dominii.

Includes the coast of the Riviera from Nice to La Spezia. A most decorative and rare map because it was only included in the Vrients' editions of the Ortelius Theatrum . The map is ornately embellished with sea monsters, sailing ships, ornate coats of arms, and other embellishments. Capri and the northern part of Corsica are also shown.

The cartouche at bottom left dedicates the map to Sig.r Antonioto Sivori, a Genoese gentleman. Spanish text on verso, published in 1609, 1612 or 1641.
