ROCHEBRUNE de, O. G. - Lanterne du château de Chambord construite en 1533 par Pierre Nepveu dit Trinqueau.
Description
The royal Château de Chambord at Chambord, Loir-et-Cher, France is one
of the most recognizable châteaux in the world because of its very
distinct French Renaissance architecture that blends traditional French
medieval forms with classical Italian structures.
As a child, Octave
de Rochebrune discovered his ability to draw.
Never ceasing to study and progress, he was particularly interested in learning from architectural reproductions of larger monuments, and from 1845, he participated in many exhibitions.
Some friends, one of whom was Benjamin Fillon, with whom he studied archaeology, allowed him to discover the magnificent etchings engraved by Charles Meryon that were displayed on several monuments in Paris. This was to be the revelation of a new passion.
