Decorative publicity plan of Ho Chi Minh City, also known by its former name of Saigon and Cholon, prepared by Ngo-Trinh, surrounded by advertisements of local stores. The names in Chinese and French.
Published in 1948 by the bookshop of Trung-Hue in Cholon.
Cholon, shown on the left, means “big market” and represents the large commercial center of the Cochin-Chinese capital, with a population of ethnic Chinese.
Second edition. Printed by Imprimerie Française d'outre mer Saigon, in 2000 examples.
Saigon city was at that time attractive to the entire French army in Indochina with its many cafes and dance halls, especially in rue Catinat and boulevard Charner. Signon River in the lower right corner.
