Condition: 5 volumes in 7 luxury later half leather bindings, incl. 266 plates and maps, including a folding portrait of the author, an allegorical title and engraved dedication leaf with vignette, numerous text illustrations (two full-page), and 9 folding tables. Volume 1; complete, in excellent condition with just some minor professional restorations; Volume 2; complete with minor professional restorations. Volume 3-1: complete, some water stains and damage on bottom right side of the book; Volume 3-2; complete with some foxing on title page; Volume 4-1; missing 4 portrets p 296,297,346 and 350, map p 26 is profesionally restored, two maps of Batavia later added; Volume 4-2: complete, some water stains throughout the whole book in the top right corner. Volume 5-1: complete only plate 32 is upside down. Volume 5-2: complete but with waterstains in top part of the second half of the book.<br>Overall: All plates and maps are in excellent condition if not otherwise stated. The book block 37 x 23.5 cm.

Condition: Six parties en un vol. in 8°. Vélin estampé à froid, titre à l'encre au dos. Frontispice allégorique gravé par J.C. Philips (1729), 3 cartes gravées dépliantes de Chine avec le Japon et le Kamchatka (1) et du Japon (2).

Condition: 4 volumes, 4to (257 x 196mm.), titles printed in red and black with engraved vignettes, 11 engraved vignette illustrations and 51 plates (of 53), a number folding, contemporary half calf, spines gilt with morocco labels, [Löwendahl 398], without the separately published atlas, lacking 2 plates in vol.2 (Obseques at p.149 and Gin seng at p.180), one plate torn without loss (vol.1, p.230), d4 vol.1 with short tear and slight stain, bindings slightly rubbed and slightly worn.

Format: 225 x 180mm.

Color: Noir et blanc.

Condition: Original yellow paper wrappers, some soiling, with title and contents labels, the fourth one of which is a little bit defective, as shown the image. Thread partially untied, but binding is almost secure. As is often the case of this, impression is somewhat pale, but very fine copy. Some worming in volume 3.<br />6 vols., not bound in the 2nd sheet with issue date in the 1st volume.

Condition: In-folio en feuilles de 199 planches (sur 200) et un vol. de texte in-4, 1/2 chagrin rouge (reliure de l'époque). Faux-titres, titres, table des planches, 199 planches pour la plupart lithographiées en couleurs ou teintées, certaines gravées. Rousseurs affectant le texte et de nombreuses planches, mouillures affectant quelques planches et les titres et tables du troisième volume. Quelques chemises de livraison subsistent. Mention de "deuxième édition" sur les chemises.

Condition: 26 photographies par Emile Gsell d'après des négatifs au collodion, épreuves sur papier albuminé contrecollées sur carton et 13 autres photographies anonymes de la même période. Certaines sont un peu jaunies, rousseurs affectant les cartons.
