A rare manual and containing geographical descriptions of all continents. Illustrated with 30 very finely engraved and coloured maps. The maps are engraved by Elias Baeck and all have very decorative cartouches, some with shields on each side, some including coats-of-arms and a banderole title in German and French across the top.

Here described as a 1st and 2nd state, but as printed next to each other they are printed from two different plates. One map with 4 medallions portraits of Tachard, de Salle, Columbus and Drake. McLaughlin does not give the source.)
Some pages a little brown spotting but generally very good and very decorative and rare.
