Description
Rare satirical print on the controversy over vaccination published in Paris " A Paris chez Depeuille Rue des Mathurins Sorbonne aux deux Pilastre d'Or".
A child provides the pustule for the vaccination of a corpulent woman by a couple of dandified doctors. The doctors are dandies in the English style, as vaccination was sometimes seen in France at this time (early 19th century) as a fashionable English invention.
The style of the two doctors shown here is recurrent in the Depeuille series on vaccination.
