BRETEZ, Louis / TURGOT. - Plan de Paris.

Large plan of Paris. With an inset in lower left corner containing a short explanation of the plan. In 1736 Claude Lucas, engraver of the 'Académie des Sciences, was assigned the task of engraving 21 plates of the so called Plan de Turgot. The latter appeared in 1739. This engraving represents the scale-down containing the 20 plates together in one and illustrating the whole city of Paris.
