Condition: In very good condition. Lines written in rounded gothic script, written in black ink, on a four-line-stave, with headings and rubrics in red.
Description
A very fine antiphonary leaf, written in Latin , probably Rome. RECTO: The staves are in red and the notes in black.
VERSO: Tw wonderful initial ,A and O, decorated with penwork in red, white and blue, in rich burnished gold.
On extremely heavy vellum (most likely ox) Wide margins. A few letters are burned into the vellum, due to oxidation of ink.
The antiphonal - as it is also called - has a large format because it was used by a whole choir and all the singers could have a look at it!
